I wanted to pose a question to the community regarding data storage. This has been (is) an issue I am actively trying to address.

I am sure many of you will relate to this situation: As I perform research (mainly internet-based, at this point in time), I acquire data in many different formats (PDFs, Word docs, text, PowerPoint slides, Excel files, etc... a little bit of everything, but mainly PDFs and text, lots and lots of text.)

I will not mention the tools I have tried, since I would like to see if you have tried the same tools.

I have considered creating a database on my own to store the data. Also, I am in the process of installing Traction TeamPage on a server; that program may well solve my storage headaches, but I would still welcome any/all input anyone can provide.

I should mention: I do not (no surprise for most of you, I am sure) have a huge budget for CI tools, so any enterprise-level (read expensive) tools are out of the question... maybe one day.

Thank you in advance for any input you can provide.
