Hi Ellen
never heard again from you... everything allright?
I'm sending you a gift so you don't forget you old friend here...
;0)
Best regards

I think so, yes. The CI space is an odd one though, let me explain briefly. When I was a corporate business developer, I acquired CI from various sources and it told me a lot of 'stuff'. Namely 'C' level contact information, company HQ and satellite information, turnovers, performance, product/services areas etc, etc. But as a business developer, this information was no more than background noise, and yet people pay big bucks for it!!
I wanted something that would line me up with corporate need or latent need based on my solutions. What I wanted was to understand the issues affecting my target corporate, or the opportunities they were investigating or the risks in the sector.
That is why I developed MyFeedMe, to keep a finger on the pulse of a target customer 24 x 7 and to alert me to events that were relevant to by business solution. If I sold secure payment services, I would want to know about recent occurrences of fraud, if I sold office furniture I would want to know about growth plans, new offices being opened etc.
I see this as logical CI value in conjunction with all the other background stuff. If we can align the two then we have a powerful proposition.
Victor gave me your name today and well.. it looks like you're certainly on here. As he may have told you, I'm hoping to begin looking for clients early next year. Still in preparation then but would love some direction/insight.
I am a student from Germany and I am currently writing my bachelor thesis with the topic Win Loss Analysis. Because I have difficulties in finding appropriate information, Rainer Michaeli referred to you as an expert for this purpose. Can you recommend any literature? Thank you for your help!
Thank you for adding me .
Nice to meet you on Ning .I am a Student of Amity University (India).I have done my MBA in Competitive Intelligence and Marketing .I am looking out for a job . In order to update i often blog .

Hi, Ellen,
Yes I remember sitting next to you at WLC luncheon last year. Great to see you here. How's everything? I expect to see you again in Chicago in Apr.
Hi Ellen, Nice to get know you here! I don't belong to SCIP. But I think I am one of the senior MI people out of Shanghai. Hope to keep close communication with you and the potential collaboration in future.
Ellen,
Thanks for welcoming to SCIP. Can you recommend any websites or publications, books about doing international company research on the web. There are a number of companies I would like to research as well as service providers such as interior designers and general contractors in Brazil, Estonia, Lithuania and other markets.
Hi Ellen
Thanks for your interest. The Swiss Healthcare ist undergoing a few changes snce the last ten years. With the new implemented diagnosis related groups, more hospitals will have to close if they do not adapt or make new strategies. This also means that hospitals will have to focus on competition. My thesis says, that an hospital is not focussing on competition and therefore this is not integrated in the strategy. My questions are: is this of importance for the future of the swiss hospital and which CI-tools good be used the best to avoid problems and make the market position stronger.
The analysis is ongoing and the results of interwiewing can be expected in two weeks
Hi Ellen
As you already know i'm living in Switzerland. I'm working in the Health Care Industrie and writing my dissertation about CI in the hospitals of Switzerland. So if you have some ideas or interesting aspects about this issue in your country....please let me know
Cheers

Hi Ellen
thank you for your warm welcome.
Seems that everybody in this group are very kind and friendly.
I think that's great. This kind of friendship can be most valuable to all of us.
Well I'm not really an expert in the field, as you mentioned. I'm trying to become one, if time allows me...
;o)
I love the CI field and to be something new I'm researching the Web 2.0 field because here in Portugal it's not very used yet by companies, well at least with their consent. So, I'm trying to show that if properly used, Web 2.0 can be very valuable to our companies so they can compete with foreign organizations.
If you know some materials that can assist me in this task I'll be very pleased with the help.
Kind regards
SM
Well getting a clean feed takes a combination of good web-sources and appropriate taxonomy-based semantic filters. It seems your friend's RSS is clean and thus it may be worth to look at his/her taxonomy. Any insight?
Indeed Richard you seem pretty well covered as far as information retrieval is concerned.
What about analysis, sharing, collaboration with others? What about aggregating those feeds together?
Any insights would be helpful.
I use e-sobi. It is a rss and podcast feed reader. I can add the feeds I want, I can store pages for later use, I can set alerts. Seems to be more powerful than the free readers. SInce you can organize it the way you want, it provides a way to quick…
