 senter: Peggy Garvin, MLS (Syracuse University), is an independent inf
 ormation consultant specializing in U.S. government information and go
 vernment publishing trends. She focuses on helping other professionals
  make the most of government information in their work. Peggy has auth
 ored several books on government information research; most recently, 
 she edited Government Information Management for the 21st century: Int
 ernational Perspectives (London: Ashgate Publishing, 2011). Peggy chai
 rs the SLA Public Policy Advisory Council and is the communications di
 rector of the Government Information Division, having previously serve
 d as its chair. Peggy has organized and led many SLA educational sessi
 ons over the years and has conducted webinars for SLA and for the Asso
 ciation of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP). She was prese
 nted with the SLA Dow Jones Leadership Award in 2011 in recognition.\n
