Tactical, Operational & Strategic Analysis of Markets, Competitors & Industries
I just returned from the SLA 2011 Annual Conference in Philadelphia where several thousand information professionals gathered to discuss how special libraries, librarians and other info pros can help their organizations become more "Future-Ready" (the conference theme).
I've been honored to serve as a member of the Future Ready task force that SLA's president Cindy Romaine put together last year. The primary product of that work has been a group blogging community known as Future Ready 365. Check it out sometime and you'll see the writing of many of the members of the CI2020 community here as well, including yours-truly.
From a CI point of view, the Future-Ready message is right on target for us - in fact, SLA's CI Division had a special "CI week" of posts the week of May 30 to point out that fact. Well, we'd like to put out a call to non-SLA members to participate as well.
So, if you have ideas on how to make organizations more Future-Ready, I'd encourage you to surf over to http://futureready365.sla.org to read a few posts and click the link to submit your own. Tell them Arik sent you ;-)
