I've been a marketing director in healthcare for over thirty years. In the early years I managed the CI efforts exclusively. More recently I helped develop an inter-disciplinary approach within my company, involving all levels of staff and members of the board.
We compete against companies that are far better funded than we are. We have developed an efficient system of observing and analyzing our competitors' actions at the tactical level and of gauging the market's response. We are working on developing those same skills at the strategic level, which involves predicting the competitors' responses to a volatile marketplace.
