I am currently in Florida, moving to Pittsburgh in approximately one month and was curious if anyone knew of any entry level CI positions in the area.
I have 5 years experience in consultative sales and am currently a senior in my B.A. in Intelligence Studies at American Military University. After which, I plan on doing graduate work to obtain my MBA, and a grad certificate in leadership from Cornell. I am looking to get my foot in the door as early as possible and would appreciate any insight or guidance anyone could offer!
Thanks in advance,
Nathan S. Marlar
P.S. I would be more than happy to send a resume and references over as requested. My LinkedIn profile is http://www.linkedin.com/in/nathanmarlar. Please feel free to add me!
If I were in your shoes, I would probably focus on applying to jobs with titles such as marketing analyst, pricing analyst, market research analyst or product analyst. It will be difficult finding a position that looks identical to an entry-level competitive intelligence analyst, but if you start off in another type of analyst position it's possible you'll be able to migrate over time into a pure competitive intelligence role. Be creative in looking for an entry-level position and learn as much as possible about competitive intelligence.
