Martin is founder and Director of Mathémata Group - a business offering consultancy services in Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) and training in Competitive Intelligence via the Institute for Competitive Intelligence (http://www.competitive-intelligence.com)
Having worked in both the public and private sector Martin has experience across a range of sectors including Strategic Management Consultancy, Investment Banking and specialised Financial Services. Within these organizations he has managed and delivered services across a range of disciplines including Business Information, Knowledge Management, Information Technology and Market Data.
Martin’s experience has convinced him that the skills and techniques necessary for the effective transaction of business cross disciplines that were once regarded as separate. Most recently his contention is that Competitive Intelligence builds on the foundations of KIM to deliver analytical tools that are fast, factual and actionable.
An editorial board member of Sage Journals’ Business Information Review Martin has published a number of articles relating to Business Information, including Vendor and Contract Management, Compliance and Market Data.
Graduating in Classics from Cambridge University Martin holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Librarianship from the University of Wales. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Information Professionals (CILIP) and the Special Libraries Association (SLA).
