Manager, Market & Competitive Intelligence, Cabot Corporation
Provides timely and relevant insights based on broad and complex competitive data analysis to support optimal strategic business decisions driving growth. Ensures relevant information is being gathered and used in the development of marketing strategies and business development programs.
Key areas of responsibility.
Primary focus: Works with multiple sources including internal (sales teams, operations managers, R&D, marketing segment managers) and external (industry analysts, customers, competitors, trade associations) to collect data and maintain market & competitive intelligence for the business segment
• Conducts market & competitive analysis to support strategic planning decisions.
• Ensures timely and relevant information is being gathered, evaluated and maintained including:
o Which competitors have which business
o Which competitors win and lose new business
o New product introductions from competitors
o The product range of our competitors
o The asset footprint of our competitors and what actions they are taking
o New competitors in developing markets
o Market growth rates and underlying factors
o Track relevant economic indicators
o Evolving market dynamics and customer needs
o Critical IP landscape
• Evaluates, interprets and reports (prepares and delivers presentations) on analytical results, market patterns and trends
• Provides insight linking observations and trends across multiple studies to impact and enhance decision-making
• Anticipates changing trends and opportunities and proactively recommends changes to marketing plans and strategies as appropriate.
• Shares results of analysis with all relevant stakeholders (Strategic Planning, Reg Bus Directors, Segment Mgrs, Product Mgrs, Applications Development & Sales)
