Event Description

CI 101® is designed for those who are relatively new to the field of CI. Participants often include seasoned executives in other corporate functions who have, or will assume, responsibility for CI initiatives and activities. CI 101® delivers the foundation for success. It is a step by step guide to gathering and analyzing intelligence, and effectively managing the process. Participants will tour sources of secondary intelligence, and then take a deeper dive by examining techniques for conducting primary research (“human intelligence”) – the heart of good intelligence gathering. Finally, interactive roundtable discussions and group exercises are focused on intelligence analysis, the key to delivering good intelligence. The power of the workshop is drawn from the combined consultant and practitioner perspectives of its leaders, and the insight and experiences of all participants.

Key Take-Aways: Defining “Intelligence”; Illustrations of how to create intelligence from the bits and pieces of raw data; Effective technique for talking to people to obtain human intelligence; Template to organize the collection effort – within legal and ethical boundaries – so that you have the time to add value through analysis; Proven best practices for building and managing the intelligence function
