As a researcher I come from a scientific background. In Rome Italy, I have worked, and acquired a PhD in Monte Carlo Simulations of GaN blue-green/violet laser diodes. The main objective of this work was to investigate the effect of the wurtzite anisotropy on the exciton interaction with PE-PO phonons. My scientific career subsequently moved in the field of nanotechnology. The range of my responsibilities (at the Institut d'Electronique et de Microélectronique du Nord (IEMN), Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille, France) included the interpretation of the electrical measurements on single molecules or semiconductor quantum dots that are weakly coupled to metallic electrodes. In the demanding environment of nanotechnology research I have acquired technical skills which extend far beyond the boundaries of my theoretical and computational duties. I have shown considerable ability to cope with any challenge concerning the theoretical and practical aspects of research tasks within a project. I have had the pleasure of working with the leading scientists in the field, thus broadening my research experience and developing my full potential. I have been involved successfully in the commercial installation of LED lighting systems as part of home automation systems, under the supervision of BKK constructions, in Athens Greece.
Recently, I have also been running a successful small farm operator business, in the island of Crete, in Greece. During the course of this endeavour I have realized how important it is, to plan ahead with the right type of crop, so as to not waste away the precious physical resources of the farm. I am also endeavouring to install and experiment with solar modules that can be successfully utilised in agriculture, whence improving crop production, and produce electrical power at the same time.

My research interests during the past decade have also focused to the realms of politics, economy, and technology, and the events, which culminate from the fusion and incessant interaction of these spheres of human activity. I am especially interested in the exponential effect of the rich and complex interactions that occur between the free market economy and the political landscape that is continually transformed by the rapid technological and cultural revolutions across the globe. The brewing effect of this continuous transformation within societies leads to unforeseen consequences that may not be beneficial at all.
As we have already witnessed, the economic events that have been unfolding in Europe during the past two years, along with the on-going technological revolution in telecommunications and the world wide web, have shown how abruptly they can induce a profound effect in the history of authoritarian regimes and bring an immense geopolitical crisis which in turn could lead more upheaval upon the global market economy.
Most recently the unfortunate and devastating earthquake in Japan that carried an immense cost in human lives and long term consequences in the environment and the Japanese economy, has shown how abruptly a nuclear incident can affect the health and lives of millions of people and turn the nations toward more environmentally friendly sources of energy like in the case of Germany. The best way to grasp the potential of this accelerating revolution, is to participate in influential institutions, that are the harbingers of social economic and technological changes.
I am an insatiable reader of news, concerning all the realms of politics, economy, and technology, and the events, which culminate from the fusion and incessant interaction of these spheres of human activity.

These sound and valuable conclusions in the aforementioned frontiers of human endeavour, will give the definite edge to private institutions and organisations in the turbulent future that is already upon us.
