I've been wandering around with the tag line that competitive techncal intelligence (at least) is one of the best kept secrets on the planet. A cooperative collaborative effort to inform, educate and incent good practices is a great idea!

It strikes me that our next phase of exchange and dialogue needs to match up TECHNIQUES and PROBLEMS. You may have people using both MARKETING AND CTI to create BUSINESS VALUE, and you may have people in the non-profit world using SCENARIO PLANNING to help fight WORLD HUNGER.

It's time to mix and match people by skill set and by the values they hope to create. That way, more people can know about competitive technical intelligence, and you, and they can compare what they want to do with it.

Agreed. Lots to discuss.

In my little part of the space, competitive technical intelligence, I've felt the need to talk about tools and processes. Since I wasn't quite sure where to create the discussion, I started a blog (very recently) and a "blog book" where I can talk about tools and processes. It's just beginning, but it is one concrete step.

In addition and since I'm a CTI person, I've now built the patent model of business intelligence, business analytics, competitive intelligence and competitive technical intelligence. I'll publish this eventually when it is really done, but a first cut engineering diagram of inter-disciplinary relations is on my site.
