I really enjoyed Leonard Fuld's Secret Language of Competitive Intelligence. I thought it was a capstone work of an illustrious career and explained the discipline in serious yet accessible language. It represented the state of the industry in the 2000s.
These are, in my opinion, the best books: "Creating a Competitive Intelligence Capability - Developing the Intelligent Organisation" by Deonie Botha, who I interviewed for my blog marketing-intelligence (http://marketing-intelligence.blogspot.com/2008/02/intervista-deonie-botha-autrice-del.html), "The secret language of Competitive Intelligence" by Leonard Fuld, "Contemporary Strategy Analysis" by Robert Grant.

I'm enjoying Hyperformance: Using Competitive Intelligence for Better Strategy and Execution by T.J. Waters. Love the football analogies and military quotes and stories.
