Event Description

Information analyst and Intelligence practitioners are invited to come together in World-Class CI Summit™ to learn, and share ideas and experiences with each other and with subject experts and to enhance their Competitive Intelligence capabilities. The World-Class CI Summit™ series will be realized with the participation of managers and/or Competitive Intelligence directors who are interested in obtaining a superior understanding of how to plan, develop and achieve a world class competitive intelligence function.The summit is designed for whom are involved or are in the process of developing a CI function or provides strategic insights and innovations to senior management.

The World-Class CI Summit™ will be structured around a research-generated model of World-Class Competitive Intelligence developed by the workshop leaders; the model incorporates a project management approach to the enhancement of Competitive Intelligence.

This Summit will also offer participants a unique opportunity to work with competitive intelligence professionals from other best practicing companies.

The objectives of the Summit are:


- Developing the ideal conditions for implementing a CI framework of Excellence
- Disseminating and sharing best practices and knowledge
- Creating an environment of interaction and discussion enable to leverage key aspects of the CI operation.



Summit Methodology

The summit has been designed to be highly interactive which comprises a mixture of short presentations, small-group activity and plenary discussion. This summit will offer a hands-on approach for establishing a world-class CI capability. Sharing imperative: participants are asked to be highly contributive during the entire sessions so that each company will be able to obtain new and fresh insight for their CI function.

CI in Siemens Building Technologies: Moving from a Provider of Information to a Provider of Insights

A practitioner's view of the progress of a CI function within a Division of Siemens Industry Sector along the route towards best practice in implementing and maintaining a competitive intelligence capability which contributes to actionable decision-making. An objective assessment of the organization, using published methodologies and criteria, will be applied to the CI operations of a building technologies unit within Siemens.
Each criteria will be assessed and the challenges and successes in improving the unit's position within the organization will be discussed.
A personal view shared by a senior practitioner in the field with over 20 years experience.

- Using self-assessment tool to establish the level and global achievements.
