SCIP 2009 Plans?

As we get closer, I wanted to throw out a question: What are everyone's plans for attending the SCIP 2009 Annual International Conference & Exhibition?

The program teams have spent months putting together a compelling and innovative program that will appeal to beginning, intermediate and advance competitive intelligence professionals. Networking and sharing expertise directly with my fellow CI practitioners keep me coming back to SCIP. I'm excited to be hosting colleagues in my native hometown of Chicago and definitely plan on introducing a few of them to the heavenly joy that is Gino's East Pizza. If I can answer any questions about Chicago please feel free to ask here.

I'm afraid my wife and I won't discuss with you face-to-face in Chicago. Nonetheless, with regard to my blended learning course Information security ( http://triton.cs.put.poznan.pl/platon/files/opisyPrzedmiotow/ib_dzi... ), I'm very interested in pre-, during the conference, and post-asynchronous discussions about some topics present in those five tracks proposed by you. Naturally, also I teach my students how not to be hunted by CI hunters ( http://www.scip.org/About/content.cfm?ItemNumber=5785 ): hence being up-to-date on all the latest methods and techniques of CI is as important for them as being up-to-date on all the latest methods and techniques of intelligence is important for every member of the counterintelligence community. I'd like to ask you the following question: What do you mean writing "The relationship of CI and IT security" in the track CI Offense/Defense (Ibidem)? Are you really convinced that we should limit ourselves to discussing only its part Computer and Other Technical Vulnerabilities ( http://www.rjhresearch.com/SecurityGuide/Contents.htm#Shortcut )? Therefore, I'm really looking forward to John Lauria and Emanuele Criscione's workshop Implementing a Counter-Intelligence Program: Playing Zone Defense ( http://www.scip.org/content.cfm?ItemNumber=6238 ), and to two education sessions: Naomi Fine's Mastering Company Secrets in Ten Easy Steps and Mark Danner's The Intelligence Value of Cyber Attacks – Learning from Your Enemy ( http://www.scip.org/content.cfm?itemnumber=6260 ).

I intend to work with Kieran, Tim, and Greg on my one-hour session, "Bagpipes, Next-Generation Intelligence Methodologies, and You: How to Accompany All Deliverables With 130 dB of Jigs and Reels"

We'll be discussing social media, the role of hip-hop, the economic downturn and whether we could see it coming, as well as a special five-hour dialogue on pizza in Chicago, New York, and Naples.

I can't promise blues, but klezmer is highly likely.

Anthony Bourdain weighs in on Chicago food:

But I ate something truly delicious on camera at Burt's. I don't know that I'd call it "pizza". Whatever Burt's selling? It's something.... special. Some kind of crusty, tomatoey, cheesy....casserole or something--with delightfully fresh toppings. The crust is what really sets it apart from the rest. And Burt, of course, is exactly the sort of rugged, go-your own way individual I like to see succeed anywhere. If you're planning a visit to Chicago, go buy whatever that stuff is he's making. It's great.

Good enough for me; Bourdain is a genius. So...who knows how to get to this place?

For the first time in years I am NOT speaking or heading up a committee during this conference, so I am looking forward to lots of networking opportunities, fun and actually seeing all the exhibits this year. Chicago has many dining experiences, pizza being one of them. And it has a great museum too! I'll be there and think in a down year like this it's even more important for those in CI to attend. Chicago is a great location too - centrally located. So I hope we get a good crowd ---See you there...

Can anyone help me here?

For the SCIP presentation they say:

"PowerPoint or PDF Format, 2 slides per page on SCIP’s conference template in Black & White"....

Does this just mean take a "regular" presentation and at the end somehow format it so it prints two slides per page?

I see "Handout Master" / "Slides per Page" .....
and "Print Preview" / "Print What?" (handouts 2 slides per page")

There's really nothing different about writing a presentation in this format, correct?

Alan, can you provide some background context in where this is being requested of you?

Without the context, I read it as asking for you Print a Handout and then choose an option of how many slides you want to appear on each page. PowerPoint (for the Mac, anyway) gives you options to print handouts with 2, 3, 4, 6 or 9 slides per page as well as handouts that are your slides and notes on each page.

1.1. Speaker agrees to conduct a 60 minute session on April 23, 2009 OR April 24, 2009.
1.2. Presenter agrees to provide the following materials by March 5, 2009. If SCIP does not receive the requested materials by the deadline, the Presentation will not be included on the conference CD or the SCIP website.
