NEW ONLINE PLATFORM FOR INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS
On 3 October 2019, Europol’s Executive Director, Catherine De Bolle launched CONAN (Connecting Analysts), the new
platform for intelligence analysis. The platform was launched in the margins of
the European Police Chiefs Convention, the most significant law enforcement
convention in the EU. Through the secure, web-based CONAN platform, criminal
analysts from EU Member States, third partner countries and relevant partner
agencies will be able to elaborate and share guidelines, methodologies, training
materials, analytical tools and additional resources.
CONAN will feature two sections on operational and strategic analysis where law enforcement experts from Member
States and beyond can exchange their expertise, interact with each other and
work towards improving intelligence analysis. A dedicated sub-platform will be
devoted to facilitating knowledge-sharing solely among EU law enforcement
professionals. In the near future, a sub-platform will also allow EU Member
State law enforcement analysts to develop and co-create analytical tools.
