Just to clarify everybody - this is at 1:00 PM Eastern / 12:00 PM Central time - to be sure, if you export to iCal format it'll adjust to your time zone automatically.

Note to self, work out the time difference and turn up on time. Welcome this and look forward to participating

To get us all thinking before the call - here's a proposal for the definition and structure of the Intell Collab that's emerged from various discussions. Looking forward to the discussion!

“The Intelligence Collaborative is an umbrella concept. It is meant to be a catalyst for a wide variety of focused initiatives, created and driven by volunteers. The Collaborative will host a community “meeting” place, a registry for member-driven projects, event publicity and reporting, and a peer-reviewed content library. The rest is up to you!

Here’s how it works:

– Anyone can launch an initiative at any time. These activities can be topic-specific discussions, networking groups, information sharing – anything goes. Members “vote with their feet”’ by spending their time on initiatives that they consider valuable. A few examples might include: a structured discussion on the “future of intelligence”; a project in which an Intelligence Collaborative team partners with other intelligence-related organizations to address barriers between organizational silos that do intelligence work; local or virtual networking events for intelligence professionals (see LINK for a sample); a “tools” wiki which captures information on the latest and greatest… etc.
– The Intelligence Collaborative will not manage money. Initiative teams should contribute or organize sponsors to support their work as needed.
– There are no operating rules for initiatives. It is expected that some “best practices” will evolve and be shared, but no one is required to follow any of them.

We’ll know it’s working well if we see an active community making progress on initiatives. There may be 2 initiatives or there may be 200, but there will be action, discussion, and value!”

On the agenda - a description of the emerging structure (or NON structure) of the Intelligence Collaborative, and what it will mean for uniting intelligence professionals of all stripes going forward.

By the way, we realize this will be pretty late at night for our friends in Australasia so I plan to record it for dissemination later on. Nonetheless, please join us if you can.
