SCIP09 Chicago Conference Review

As I've been reflecting this week on the key takeaways of SCIP’s International Conference & Exhibition in Chicago last week, I wanted to extend a thank you to all of you that attended and caused the conference to be engaging to our intellects and extremely fun to attend. I want to personally thank my Vice Chair, August Jackson, for all of his work surrounding the conference – I can say confidently, we’re all in very good hands with August as he prepares the team for SCIP10’s program in D.C.… Continue

The conference was very well done, Derek. You and August did a fantastic job. The only thing we wanted was more - more networking, more time to get to all the great sessions, etc. When you want more of something, that means it's really good. And thanks for agreeing to take the job! Best, Claudia

Congrats Derek for the great job done running the SCIP 09 program committee. Being occupied at the Digimind booth, I did not get a chance to directly participate in conferences however I discussed with several attendees who witnessed their appreciation attending the SCIP 09 millesime.

Great job on SCIP09, even more as your wedding is only a month away! I will be blogging about sessions I attended in the coming weeks, as well as the new CTI book released by CI Foundation!

Here is today's blog http://cooperativeintelligenceblog.com/2009/04/27/are-we-in-a-rut-in-competitive-intelligence-innovation-scip09-post-conference/, which is a follow-up to Bill Fiora's discussion on this CI Ning, "Are we in a rut?"

Great work chairing SCIP09 last week Derek - you and program committee put together an important collective contribution to the CI field. I just thought I'd say that in "public" here ;-) for once, since I only ever give kudos privately.

Treacy was a killer keynote too - I pulled nuggets to my Twitter feed if you want to review - http://twitter.com/arikjohnson - one of the best I've ever seen... and I've seen a few.

Good to see you in Chicago. Great conference and job well done. Pulling it all together is a lot of work for the Program Committee, Board, other volunteers and the speakers. Thank you for your leadership. It is greatly appreciated. Mel

I am enjoying the book, still working through it with all my other reading, but I like the practicality of it. Practitioners of the art need more than academic treaties on the subject. And thanks for making it a Kindle selection--when you travel aro…

Well getting a clean feed takes a combination of good web-sources and appropriate taxonomy-based semantic filters. It seems your friend's RSS is clean and thus it may be worth to look at his/her taxonomy. Any insight?

Indeed Richard you seem pretty well covered as far as information retrieval is concerned. What about analysis, sharing, collaboration with others? What about aggregating those feeds together? Any insights would be helpful.

I use e-sobi. It is a rss and podcast feed reader. I can add the feeds I want, I can store pages for later use, I can set alerts. Seems to be more powerful than the free readers. SInce you can organize it the way you want, it provides a way to quick…
