Totally agree. You need someone that likes to dig to the root cause of things. I think Monk would be an excellent CI/CA professional. You need to be a tad bit OCD to do this work. You have to be able to see the trends where others miss. Take 2+2 a...

In reviewing the thread I see a binary opposition emergent between a desire for sophisticated professionalization, and a faith in personality type/ cognitive style. This is to be expected inasmuch as Bill Fiora's prompt appeals directly to respons...

I have submitted my earlier post only to realize that it needed editing due to word omission or mistyping, which luckily does not alter the original meaning. I am not aware how to take advantage of the 15 minutes editing time that displayed. Apolo...

We missed you at SCIP 09, and all hope you have a speedy recovery! Ken did a good job leading your dialog and shared a graphic about bikes, which told us your story. Ouch! Best, Ellen

Bill, fantastic to see you here and great to be working together on the Amsterdam SCIP European Summit Commitee (that has to be reduced, a bit of a mouthful). Invited Josef Rodenberg to this forum to bring the whole committee online. Some of us are here already - Gabriel, Alessandro, Andreas and Eduardo. Brings another dimension to the planning conference calls, don't you think! Take care

Thank you Bill for your answer. I still agree with you, but I also have found some clients that if they do not see some fancy or sophisticated techniques in our projects, they give less value to our work, thinking than anybody could do it.

Hi Bill,
Please let me tell you that I have a quotation of your publication "The Seven Deadly Sins of CI" in the presentation that I give as "Introduction to CI for SMEs". ' ... some of the best analysis I have seen was done without using any of the most commonly taught analysis techniques. In most cases, all you need is a whiteboard, a marker, and a few good brains.' I agree about how important is to count on good common sense and creative thinking in most CI proyects.
Nice to meet you here.

As far as I know all companies always use 5 Force Analysis. Now it depends on how effective is the OODA loop
