Hi there,
Very interesting topic Babette and Monika. I also have the feeling that something is moving. I am not sure if it is coming from the own evolution of the profession, as Arik is pushing us, or from the market requesting new profiles. Or eve…
Hi Michael,
You may be true. But I mean I am surprised due to the fact that the Chicago summit was not used as an opportunity to talk about this crucial issue among all the members that travelled there.
We were totally kept away from the problem.…
Just two things come to my mind:
I would really have appreciated some information about this during the Chicago gathering. It is quite surprising.
Can an association "merge" with a private company?
I share the worry about the future.
Regards,
Eli…
August,
By flexible registration I mean either a late open desk for people arriving in late flights or from other continents or a way to do it previously online, so after checking the we have paid our fees we would receive an authorization and our…
I work in competitive intelligence and business information since 1990 when I founded Infoline, where we provide a full range of CI solutions: ad hoc projects, monitoring, training, consulting, and CI tools.
In February 2008 I coordinated the organization of the Spanish Group of CI Professionals, that in May 2008 became the first CI association in Spain. Now, after merging with other initiatives is about to be born as a new and larger association.
Member of Global Intelligence Alliance since 2003.
SCIP member.
Ola Eliana,
It was great meeting you and my Spanish colleagues in Chicago. I too was sad that we missed each other on Thursday night, but we'll have to repeat, hopefully in Amsterdam and if not then, then at SCIP2010.
Thanks Eliana. I'm glad that you found the quote useful enough to use. The more that I do this type of work, the more I am convinced that the quote is true.
Muchas gracias. Thank you for the compliment. The pleasure was all mine.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to present at a SEPIC meeting. I applaud your initiative!
Óptimo!
Esperemos que possas estar presente.
Quanto ao 'obrigado' está perfeito ;-))
E o teu espanhol está ainda melhor ;-))
Vamos mantendo o contacto.
Até breve.
Miguel
Miguel
I'm from Spain. We were in contact a couple of months ago regarding a new professional CI group that we have coordinated to start. I am glad to say that it is now a formal association. SEPIC (Sociedad Española de Inteligencia Competitiva). We do not have website yet, because it was born 10 days ago.
For sure... we must keep in contact.
I want to contribute more to the MI effort but has been really impossible so far.
Let's talk soon as I am sure we could both benefit on exchanging professional experiences.
King regards, LM
Thank you, pleasure and glad you enjoyed it. I recommend that you could put an idea down to present at a local SCIP event or even the Rome Summit later iin October.
Well getting a clean feed takes a combination of good web-sources and appropriate taxonomy-based semantic filters. It seems your friend's RSS is clean and thus it may be worth to look at his/her taxonomy. Any insight?
Indeed Richard you seem pretty well covered as far as information retrieval is concerned.
What about analysis, sharing, collaboration with others? What about aggregating those feeds together?
Any insights would be helpful.
I use e-sobi. It is a rss and podcast feed reader. I can add the feeds I want, I can store pages for later use, I can set alerts. Seems to be more powerful than the free readers. SInce you can organize it the way you want, it provides a way to quick…
