Hi All,

I am currently studying an MBA in MGSM and am currently undertaking CI as a subject. I have a major assignment due for this unit to provide a Consultant Report to the CEO of a Company on their Competitive Intelligence approach, problems/solutions and process for ongoing CI. This report is due on 01/09/2011.

Can someone please assist me by suggesting a company and a key executive that I can talk to about this or if working with a CI consultant, I would like to work with them on a case.

I have to carry out an environmental audit and include a talk with a key executive of the company or a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Can someone please assist me by recommending a company that I can approach as I am very interested in this but am finding it hard to find the right organization.

Hi All,

There is a Software Showcase featuring Competitive and Market Intelligence software, Comintelli Knowledge XChanger™ which will be held;
Melbourne: Lunch on Monday 25-October in Melbourne at 12:30-2:00pm,
Sydney: Breakfast on Wednesday 27-October at 8:30-10am.

We are fortunate to have the Comintelli founder and Executive Director, Gabriel Anderbjork, coming from Sweden to present. This is a great opportunity to see Comintelli Knowledge XChanger™ in action and hear from a global CI expert and thought leader in the industry.

This session is free of charge and in addition to seeing some of the leading Information Management applications in action you will hear about recent developments in the CI field.

The events have been posted to the ning site events and can be found at:
Melbourne: http://competitiveintelligence.ning.com/events/ci-software-showcase...

Sydney: http://competitiveintelligence.ning.com/events/ci-software-showcase...

This is also a good opportunity for all of us to meet up in Melbourne or Sydney.

- Tristan

It's good that we are finally getting some CI events running locally. To add to this there is also a CI Software Showcase featuring Comintelli Knowledge XChanger and possibly snippets from other technologies that is being run as a follow on after SCIP APAC. This is being run in Sydney (27/10, 8:30-10am) and Melbourne (25/10 12:30-2pm), and Gabriel Anderbjork, Comintelli founder and Global CI expert will be coming from Sweden to present. I will post these events once the details are finalised today / tomorrow.

We are also trying to arrange for Gabriel to run a "Managing Competitive Intelligence" half day workshop which he has presented content for around the world. If you may be interested in this let me know.

great idea and good location! If I'm in the country that day I'll come along.

Thanks for the responses! The level of interest is quite encouraging - with roughly 7 people looking to attend to date. Considering that the Power Searching seminar is on Thursday, the 18th of November and that there are some attending, I thought it would be worthwhile to have it on the same day at Coach Bar in GPO, 1 Martin Place at about 6pm. How does that fit in with your schedules?

Hi there,
I look forward to meeting some of you when in Sydney for the Power Searching Workshop in November.
Comment by Heath Gibson on September 26, 2010 at 7:05pm
@Mark: I'm interested in a Sydney meet up if one is being organised, however I'll be away from during the middle of October (10th -18th) so would prefer either before or after.

Maybe we should start organising an end of year catch up now so that everyone has time to get it in their calendars?

Babette, I've just enrolled for the Melbourne workshop on Power Searching.

That would be good Tristan. Look forward to catching up.

Great idea.

We also have Gabriel from Comintelli coming to Sydney and Melbourne after SCIP APAC in late October. He is likely to run a couple of session in both Sydney and Melbourne which is also a good way for us to meet up. I will keep you all posted with the plans.

Why politics deserves greater mindshare of CI in India

Politics affects business in very real ways, and this is becoming increasingly apparent in India. In recent weeks, corporations have been screaming hoarse about the impact of poor governance on business. In India governance is related inextricably to politics...It is the job of competitive intelligence professionals to scrutinize all aspects of the business environment. If politics is a significant part of the environment, then that needs to feature in the analysis too. While CI has many tools…See More
