Just lining up final details with the venue and our sponsors for the very first Intelligence Collaborative meeting here in Washington. We're expecting around 75 - 100 attendees to join us in Adams Morgan, Washington DC. It should be quiet a blast. More details to follow shortly.

My opinion: we should share anything that is not proprietary and that we know may be useful to others. Probably it will usually be in response to a question, but sometimes I get really excited when I find something elusive and I might just want to tell someone! I think the emphasis on raising the visibility and credibility of the profession is right on, and I think one of the best ways to do that is to collaborate and share -- it will make us all stronger. Maybe we have a best practice question once a month or something. An online community of practice. Leave the competition aside -- what determines how much business you get is not based on how many sources you have, but how creative you are in using them, and what kind of customer service and value for the money you provide. I just don't believe there are any bad consequences to sharing knowledge -- ever.

Collaboration : nice; big potential. I join the game. Is it the idea to share intelligence techniques (how to.. ) or also to share content ('I can't find xyz, anybody can tell me where to look?').

Hi Eric,

I like this idea of collaboration in the profession and inclusiveness. Count me in! Like Tim, this was SCIP's intention when we were both on its board.

Sounds great, Eric. Nice summary of the situation.

Believe it or not, thse goals are pretty much what SCIP was trying to do when it started. I agree that a return to its more "organic" opriginas is a step in the right direction.

Hey Chris - how's the Pharma meeting going? Are you tweeting it?
