Hi Alli, The Sun Tzu quote you noted is frequently used at SCIP conferences. This quote applies to war, not business, because war is a zero sum game and business is not. Sun Tzu had another quote that is more applicable to business and CI, which...

Monika, In my upcoming book on CI, I have a list of more than 20 titles used by CI people, as compiled by Jens Thieme (to indicate the enormous variation in titles.) Titles or the concepts they embody are fluid, with some working better for a fe...

Hi All, I actually like Competitive Intelligence a lot. It is provocative, descriptive and makes people ask questions, rather than move onto the next guest at the cocktail party. I think the term can be morphed through subtitles for each person's...

Profile Information

About Me:
Seena Sharp is a pioneer in Competitive Intelligence, founding Sharp Market Intelligence in 1979, following a successful corporate career in New York City, during which time she earned her masters degree in mathematics from New York University.

Sharp Market Intelligence specializes in market intelligence - market drivers, unknown customers, alternative uses, emerging competitors, openness of the industry to a new vendor, different distribution channels, trends and market shifts, as well as traditional industry analysis and competitor profiles.

Sharp Synthesis is a service that organizes and analyzes a company's internal data and information when they don't have time or expertise. Finally, Seena Sharp is a frequent speaker (US and Europe) and published author on CI as well as new early warning techniques.

The company publishes the popular SharpInsights, frequently quoted brief eblurbs on the changing marketplace - globally.
