Profile Information

About Me:
Pharma and biotech consultant focusing on competitive intelligence, portfolio analysis and marketing strategy.

At Icarus Consultants we specialise in competitive and business intelligence in the technical areas such as oncology, hematology, immunology, respiratory and HIV, but also cover other therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, dermatology and neuroscience.

Our experience covers a broad range including traditional competitive intelligence, landscape opportunity assessments and key opinion leader research.

My particular area of interest and research is experimenting and utilising web2.0 tools to support our strategic analyses.

My previous background includes 13 years at Novartis in the UK and USA in marketing, new product development and other functions. The highlight of my career included the launch of Gleevec, a blockbuster cancer drug for the treatment of CML and GIST. Prior to that, I completed a Ph.D in respiratory medicine at Kings College, University of London.

I remain a science geek at heart and write a blog on the science and biology of cancer, interspersed with research on the practical applications of web tools to life science and competitive intelligence.

What is competitive intelligence?

"There are no secrets, only information you don't yet have."

Hi Sally,
Martha sent me the invitation for this site and I have joined it. I sent you a couple of e-mails a few days ago after our discussion at the SCIP meeting on October 12.
Regards,
Revati (RJ)
